Murals

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

I also had the chance to do four murals for this couple’s children rooms. The couple was very easy going and flexible which made it so much fun to work with them. They kept asking me to do whatever I thought that was best. Once I got started – I was having fun already! I did four different murals – each kids got a mural painting done in their room plus their bathroom too.

Take a peek at those “BEFORE” pictures:

Meet my little fan, Tavey – who got to watch me working few times. His two big sisters were away at the summer camp – knowing NOTHING about this “surprise” their parents had planned for them when they got back home.

Check out my “mini” shop:

Now, presenting you the “AFTER” pictures:

And the kids’ bathroom:

Here, you can see that I’ve added few cute drawings on the walls such as ladybugs, dragonflies & sparking stars.

I hope you enjoy looking at those pictures as much as I’ve enjoyed painting those murals!

Introducing…The Austin Betty!

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

I’m back! So sorry for not keeping y’all updated with my work and stuff. Things were crazy and before I know it, my summer is about to end. I’ll return to work next week, teaching the high school punks for another year. Am I excited? Sure. Those high school punks can be fun & they also keeps me young.

Anyway, few weeks ago, one fan actually emailed me and asked me if I was doing anything recently. I promised her I’d fill her in. As for my recent work, I was honored to do  The Austin Betty ‘s “extreme makeover” by designing the blogger’s profile picture for her website.

Here’s the “before” picture:

Ready for the “after” picture? of course, you are. here you go:

Neat, huh? (I know, I know. Not like Tamara really needed the “extreme makeover” – she’s already perfect!) After doing this project for her, I am now hooked to her website – she fills you in about the latest fitness ideas, beauty tips, how to keep yourself healthy… and many more! Not only that, she’s my inspiration! Makes me want to take really, really good care of myself. Make sure you visit her website and read her stuff — she’s awesome!

My Groovy Dad.

My dad is an artist himself, inspired me in many ways. He’s the reason why I love drawing – and my love for halloween.

Hey October, I’m so ready to have you here again.

Gale the Gallbladder.

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

I had a twitter friend who was tweeting today about getting her gallbladder removed tomorrow morning. It is about three years ago, I had a minor surgery to get my gallbladder removed.

And I remember this conversation with another friend who was telling me how a gallbladder looked like.

“Did you ever see what it looks like?”

“Uhhh no… did you?”

“Yes, I googled it and oh my god. it’s ugly. it even have teeth and –”

STOP! Don’t tell me. I don’t wanna know!”  because I truly have a weak stomach.

I couldn’t stop thinking about what she was trying to tell me. I find myself trying to google it up and check the images that night — but I shut down the browser right away as soon the images were uploaded. Best not to know, right? But at the same time, you can’t help it being curious. Now what to do?

I decided to draw my gallbladder. I even gave it a name.

Meet Gale.

Well, my twitter friend, I hope your gallbladder was cute as mine. Maybe it’d help if you gave it a name. Good luck with your surgery tomorrow morning. You’ll be fine in no time. And you can eat anything you want after that, I think.

Did drawing Gale helped? Yes. Do I miss him? No.

Then came along Bestie.

Bestie, who?

My Bestie the Benign. That’s when the another story of my life began. I’ll blog about Bestie another time.
